Just curious... who is on that QuadCity Elite team? I’m from the Iowa side of the QC originally.

I think my HS has a 4-Star kid...

I have no idea about Dad’s activities in his son’s recruiting but I remember when he played for us in late 90s under Barry IIRC. Liked him as a player but only played 1 season. Don’t remember if it was grades or bc he’d burned eligibility @ a previous school. With that history he’s worth a look at the very least.

I wonder if we will get involved. He said we were in his top 8 once, and the staff seems to be looking at 2 guards.

I'd imagine he will end up at a school in Texas.

Here is what an anonymous college coach thinks about rankings and evaluations

I know we like this because it makes us feel better about how poorly ranked our recruiting is right now, but the data is pretty clear that higher ranked players perform better *in general*. So, again in general, the websites’ scouts don’t do too bad. Also the notion that you necessarily don’t know basketball because you didn’t play is just stupid.

Careful with that account, too. It often spews a bunch of (hateful) garbage.

I get to QC area often. The IL side. Hit Whitey's whenever I can!

Worked at Whitey’s on the avenue when I was 15.

QC is loaded with great food. Adolph’s, Hungry Hobo, Arthur’s, Grinders. And the pizza - wowza. I’m more of a Harris kinda guy but my wife and kids will only go for Happy Joe’s.

Hungry Hobo, Harris, Happy Joes, and Whiteys are some of the best foods on the planet. Those pizzas are way better than the garbage they serve in NYC. Don’t forget Maid Rite.

And if you want upscale, Duck City is better than most NYC steakhouses.

Maybe LaVall did do an initial inquiry and was told by HS or AAU coaches to not bother because Butler had no chance with him. Not saying that is what happened, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that Butler would receive feedback on various recruits from various sources telling them that this a Butler guy or this is not a Butler guy to paraphrase.

If the recruiting competion is too steep, falls under being a Butler guy or not a Butler guy, then yes. That’s it.
