Am I the only one that thinks it is a little strange that Donovan is the only available walk on that is part of the program with Parker having to sit out. I feel like there should be a couple more for practice/injury reasons. I didn't know if anyone knew why they don't have more than they do on the team.

They had tryouts in October and kept no one. Maybe that will change in the upcoming weeks if someone is competitive enough to be on the floor.

Nothing else to complain about so we're nitpicking on Lavall's recruiting of walk-ons now? If you're relying heavily on walk-ons the season's over anyway

Not trying to complain. I just find it interesting at how few they have compared to some other schools.

Do we happen to know if there were any "recruits" at the game last night. There were a couple who looked like they may be potential recruits sitting in the front row where Wilmoth, Wesley and Taylor sat during the exhibition game.

Allegedly we hosted some 6'5 shooting guard named Ben Schwieger last night. Know nothing about him. No Rivals or 247 profile that I can find. He's a 2 star according to maxpreps.

Just looked him up and saw his picture. I saw him walking around the north end of the concourse by himself! I remember seeing the “recruit” lanyard and assuming it must be for some other sport. My bad

He is supposed rise in the upcoming season. Considered one of Illinois best SGs. Highly athletic and still may be growing.

Found this story from a quick Google search. He played high school volleyball in the spring instead of AAU, so sounds like a Chicago summer showcase event was his first chance to gain some exposure.

My kid has played against the last 3 years in AAU ball. He can flat out shoot and has one of the quickest releases I’ve seen in a long time. This is exactly what we need 2 years from now filling the McDermott role.

He is similarly rated with Poulakidas, Barnhizer and Thomas. BU should be able to land one?

Pierce Thomas head and shoulders above the other 3

Yeah that's the right answer. The others I'd rather pass on. Get Thomas, get Wesley. And let's get it.

I'd love Thomas and Wesley, but I'm still in the camp that trusts that staff on early talent evaluation.

Seems like a decent rule of thumb to go with the guys that can run and jump when its close.
