In theory it should be perfect for a point guard two classes behind. He would be able to learn and not have to stress and come in and have to be the man right away. Be a solid backup his sophomore and turn the keys over to him his junior year, or in theory you could RS him and give him a year to just learn and physically get ready for the BE if he stays right around 6 foot
He was a no star nothing recruit with no D1 offers until Murray came along

Completely agree. But does a 17 year old see it that way?

Many of them do not, for one reason or another. That's why the Transfer Portal gets such a workout every year.

That is the question isn't it. But I'd guess knowing the kind of people LJ is recruiting they would be the type of kid that understands that.

Yeah, I corrected my OP. I thought I saw three stars on his profile page at one point, but looks like he wasn't ranked nationally at all--and that actually makes more sense.

Point remains the same though and in fact, this only reinforces it further.

Walker’s coach is Brian Hahn. He goes to a lot of Butler games when he can. He has had a couple of his former players that have been pretty successful at Butler.

He is short but he still knows how to get his shot off. That said to be a D1 kid he’ll have to grow. That’s also why I’ve said he could be interesting for some to follow having his Butler ties.

Watching Westfield (IN) play. Braden Smith is a 5’ 10” sophomore that does it all. Leads team in points, rebounds and assists. Great handles, loves to get everyone involved and shoots well. Someone to watch!

Yeah, he'll need to grow 2-3 more inches I'd guess.

Rotnei Clarke made it work for us at a listed 6'0", but he was also one of the most lethal outside shooters in college basketball I've ever seen.

He definitley is. He's not done growing either. His arms are extremely long.

He reminds me of a poor man's Jarrett Culver, would that be a fair comparison? I haven't seen him play live yet, just on a couple of highlights, he's more of an attacking 2 at 6'7, he obviously in high school plays some 3 and 4 due to his size but skill set wise seem to be more towards the 2

In a shocker, Trey Kaufman won the Indiana HS Gatorade POY... Give credit to the kid... he is good, but he's a junior... stretch 4, 4 star w/ a 4.0 GPA, which has him set to become valedictorian if he keeps it up... But I'm shocked!!! Kaufman won it over not one, but two IU recruits, who are seniors... and a Caleb Furst, who is a higher rated junior, Purdue commit, and I think lead his team to a state title last season and was poised to lead them to another title this season...

Jalen Blackmon is a stud. Tore his ACL this past season. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at Kentucky or Indiana. If his recruiting stands still because of injury and butler someone has a chance that would be awesome. Doubt it though

He won’t end up at IU or UK. Neither school has done any more than keep tabs on him.
