Looks like the new G-League rules will pay some players up to $500k out of high school, not to mention the endorsements that they will be able to sign.

As a G-League season ticket holder, I find it really dumb that they are all going to play for one team. I was hoping there would be a random lottery as to which teams got each players. This will likely mean that those players will only come to Fort Wayne once, if at all. I'll be sure to make it there for that game, but overall it makes the rest of the G-league kind of a horse and pony show for one team. I get the reasoning behind it, but it still frustrates me. I'll be interested to see how the "showcase team" competes. In my opinion, they won't win many games. The rest of the G-league is essentially college all-stars in their early to mid 20's. The showcase team will basically be equivalent to a Kentucky or a Duke. People underestimate the talent in the G-League, a college team wouldn't have a chance against most of them.

Again, none of these 5-stars were probably ever going to sign with Butler, but we could notice some trickle down effect. It also means more of the players that actually commit to college will be 4-year players which hurts Butler because we are usually the more experienced team in non-conference games. I always loved playing a one-and-done team early in the non-conference season.

Leland Walker from North Central has gotten offered by Purdue and Xavier today. Anyone think we'll be reaching out to him?

I like Jameel Brown a lot. Especially once he adds some weight to his 145# frame.

According to 247 the top 4 in 2022 are rated higher than the top 4 in 2021? I will say quality big men are in short supply but plenty of talented guards and wings.

Brad was quoted as saying “I’ll help you Lavall, but we don’t usually recruit ‘em that young”!

Butler reached out to many guys in the 2022 class. Lavall and staff will have a solid 2 years to build relationships with these guys. I wouldn’t be surprised if we aren’t just linked to a couple big time players but land one.

I THINK so, but I’m not 100% sure.

As a Letterman, I was banned from talking to football recruits for a few years post college. In the past 3ish years, that restriction has been relaxed a lot. I’m now perfectly free to contact a recruit to try to sway him to PSU. Now, Brad isn’t a Butler alum, and basketball might be different from football, but if it’s at all similar, then I think this is allowed. And if so... USE IT. Use Gordon too.
