Not surprisingly, he walks away from the Academy Games with more D1 offers and I'm sure rising interest. This kid is very talented and could really see his offer list expand to some prominent programs, so hopefully the fact that LJ has been on him for a while now means something to him.

Following Butler recruiting is kind of pointless because it’s always going to result in years like this. People spend all their time following people who end up picking some high major and Butler settles for some guys Cleveland State or something of the like was similarly hoping for.

Butler can’t be relevant until offers from the likes of middling HMs like a Miami don’t automatically end them, as they do now.

I've definitely struggled, as a fan, as to why we don't just give up.

1.) Butler has been relevant. Here's the last 5 years in the Big East (actually on the court).
    2019: 8th (tie)
    2018: 6th
    2017: 2nd
    2016: 4th (tie)
    2015: 2nd (tie)

2.) In the last 18 months, Butler has received commitments from 3 Top 100 players.
    - Jordan Tucker
    - Khalif Battle
    - Chuck Harris

3.) If following Butler's recruiting "is kind of pointless", then why are you here?

For the record, I'm not disagreeing the Butler's recruiting still needs to improve - it absolutely does. But this post just seems a bit hyperbolic.

Assuming, arguendo, he were to choose Miami over Butler, it clearly would be an indictment of the Bulldogs recruiting/program/future and have nothing to do with a kid from South America being attracted to living in a city where two-thirds of the population speaks his native language. Just another failure for Butler, and other facts don't matter.

Don’t let facts get in the way of a good story. Unless, of course, the facts are indeed true.
