If I understand correctly, following the Nze commitment, we'll have room for 3 players in the 2020 class. A lot can change between now and then, but as it currently stands, the 2020 class will more important than the average class, with all of the graduations we'll have in 2020 and 2021 that can't be replaced until the 2020 and 2021 classes.

If the staff stops recruiting for 2019 (and I hope they do), they can focus everything they've got on the 2020 guys both this summer and next summer and hopefully make it a class to remember.

    Our upperclassmen in 2019:

    Baldwin- Senior
    McDermott- 5th year senior
    Baddley- Senior
    Tucker- Junior
    David- Junior
    Brunk- 4th year junior
    Nze- 4th year junior
    Thompson- Junior
    JGB- Junior

That's nine guys who are juniors or seniors. Hard not to be excited. Tons of depth and experience.

Based solely on scholarships, a little confusing on why he gave out the last scholarship from someone in the already big class and only makes it more difficult for future teams and recruiting. Maybe someone will transfer out of the crowded class to hopefully open it up a little bit more.

Not a big fan of kids getting pushed down the depth chart, but save one class, really, Butler really has not had many kids transfer out. Heck, half of the Chrabascz class just did not have the chops/desire to play after looking at what transpired with their college careers afterward.

This leads me to the fact that the kids they recruit really are bought into The Butler Way in the sense that it is the belief that the team is greater than one person and that everyone knows they have a role to play.

I hope last year’s freshman class does not prove this wrong, because each of them are going to play an important part with depth. They’re literally going to have the luxury of hockey line changes if this holds up and they can backfill with talented kids.

I had a tough few years trying to sort out Kelan and Kellen plus then we had two Tylers - is it just me, or does the fact we now have two Bryce's on the roster seem rather curious - I'm thinking this is an omen...
