RE: Stanley Johnson - 2014 Forward This highlight video is year old but is still worth watching: This one is from this summer:
RE: Stanley Johnson - 2014 Forward 2014 Wing Shows Power Game Johnson plays on the same high school team as Elijah Brown, who Butler appears to be very interested in. The staff have been out to see them both multiple times. Normally I would say this is the type of player Butler has little chance of getting, but if they were to land Brown (which doesn't seem like a stretch at all) then it might put Butler into the mix for Johnson.
RE: Stanley Johnson - 2014 Forward He mentions Butler in a list of teams that are recruiting him in this video from last month. As long as they are still recruiting Brown it makes sense to recruiting Johnson as well.
RE: Stanley Johnson - 2014 Forward I don't believe they are actively on Brown either. Maybe this summer? I'd doubt it though. It'd probably take him coming back home and I don't know why he'd do that
RE: Stanley Johnson - 2014 Forward I hadn't heard anything with Brown lately, but I assumed it was just because it's difficult to actually get out there and see him during the season. To be honest I'm no really that high on Brown anyways. I watched him on ESPN and he didn't do much to make me want him in a Butler uniform. It can be hard to stand out though with so much other talent.
RE: Stanley Johnson - 2014 Forward I talked with Brown a month ago and he said that Butler got involved over the summer this past year and that when he lived in Indiana he went to Butler camp when he was younger because their family friends are big Butler fans and took him. He said he ended up crossing paths with Butler again this time for recruiting. When I asked him if he was planning a visit soon he said "hopefully yeah" and that he obviously has seen it before at camp. If Brown ends up visiting, it would make sense for Johnson to tag along, but as many mentioned its hard to keep close tabs on prospects from that far away. I will see if I can get more info from Brown later this month.
