Obviously a key piece to success is going to be the staff that Thad is able to build. I've got to think he comes in with a few names in mind and I'm sure plenty of AC's would love to be on his bench. I'm still seeing some suggest that Boals and Nored could be options but I find that hard to imagine. Will be interesting to see if any from current staff are retained. What names come to mind? Butler guys? Any other of Thad's former assistants? I would imagine we will know very soon. Should be an exciting few days!
I wouldn't be surprised if he finds a role for Greg Oden. Thad has mentored him for years and even flew to China to encourage his return to OSU as a student-manager that eventually led to continuing on Holtman's bench as a graduate assistant. Greg's 6'11" brother is at Georgia State and might enter the portal as his coach at GS, Rob Lanier went to SMU.

Names that I wouldn’t be surprised if they were discussed or considered. Jeff Boals, Ronald Nored, Alex Barlow, Khyle Marshall, Greg Oden, Alan Major, Dave Dickerson, Dane Fife, David Ragland, Roosevelt Jones, and Chris Jent to name a few. Some of these could be in other staff roles besides an AC position.
Give me two top-flight assistant coach recruiters at 350k each and Barlow at 200k. There’s your 900k budget. Recruit recruit recruit. Gotta have talent above all else.

Nored would be a phenomenal recruiter. I'd be ecstatic if Matta put him on the staff. I agree with the earlier post. If Matta hires Fife I'd say Woody didn't like him and Fife got the short end of the stick. I will say this, if you like defense then you'll like Fife.
