The only former BU guy I’m interested in who is also realistic is Barlow.

At the least we can rest assured that TM is evaluating all available suspects for the best choice possible.

 

The thinking on Rags is that a few more years under Thad could lead to a higher profile AC job leading to a better HC job than Evansville under the the current situation. Nobody jumps from BU AC to high profile HC.

 

No assistant coach up to now has jumped to HC of a high major.

wouldn’t be surprised if either Pegues or Kuwik do just that in 3 years. Also wouldn’t be surprised if one of them hangs with Thad for what I assume to be a 5-8 year run by Thad as head coach that the one still on staff gets promoted to head coach if either are still on staff.

In April 2022 “The Playing Field” landscape changed dramatically for Butler and I can’t see us stepping back into the nickel and dime shoestring budget that all prior coaches had to try to be competitive with.

 

Would think this gets done pretty quickly?

I'd venture to guess that ever since Evansville began sniffing he had a couple names in his pocket in case Ragland took the job. So yeah I'd think it'll move rather quickly.

 

A lot of that spending will be dependent on two things- winning and donors. And donors covered most of this new spending based on a promise of winning.

 

Sorry, been busy with travel plans Europe, Bahamas, now California...we'll have a new coach within a week...

Lots of exposure to Atlantic/Northeast region for recruiting as well as familiarity with European potential - and perhaps some Caribbean connections.

 

I guess Butler traded Golden for Maurice Joseph.

Was rumored to be in the running for an MSU assistant role since Izzo announced it would be someone within the MSU family (Joseph was a former player).
