Video Ads...

    Anyone else in the past few weeks having these video ads here take over your screen? You can't scroll away, you can't silence them. They used to just be auto mute and no big deal but it's getting increasingly frustrating when every 2 seconds now they are taking you away, even as I'm typing this I've had to deal with them twice. I love what this place brings and appreciate all of what Jared does, just want some clarity to what changed the past month or so, thanks!

    I have not changed anything with the ads in a long time. It’s probably been a year. Video ads have always been an option to appear, and for me they’ve been appearing all along. They should not be invasive though unless you manually expand them.

    Can you give me info on what device/browser you are using.

    I'm having the same problem. If I try to scroll away, it automatically scrolls back to the add within a few seconds. This isn't a problem on Safari on my iPhone, but is a problem on Chrome from my Windows PC. It's been happening for the last few days, at least.

    Same here....very frustrating.....just started in last few days. Makes using the forum almost impossible.

    Same thing happening to me right now, and I'm on a MacBook Pro on Chrome. It might be a Chrome issue. The browser seems to be causing the forum to constantly refresh for the ads, and it pops me back up or down to the video ad every time. It just started doing this for me this weekend.

    Ironically Chrome just released an update last month that is meant to stop intrusive video ads. Which spot(s) are they coming from? I use Chrome but can't seem to duplicate the issue.

    I turned off all video ads this morning, so there shouldn’t be any appearing at all. I’d like to find the problem and correct it, but I don’t have time for that any time soon. It’s possible it could take some time to update the new settings on each persons end.

    Jared, I get the same stuttering on a few websites besides this one. And it is intermittent, some days it happens and other days not. It started about 10-15 days ago.

    I have redone all of the ad codes and manually blocked any of the advertisers who have been reported as displaying a video ad. I hope this has eliminated it because I honestly don't have anything else I know how to do.

    Jared, this is happening again on my phone when I access the app about every 2 minutes (don’t even click on it). The video ad just pops up. And I have a VIP membership. Please advise.
